The cases I list below are cases that most attorneys would consider dead-bang losers. This is not a complete list of all the cases that I represented that resulted in acquittals and dismissals.

AJ
Charges: Capital murder, attempted murder, kidnapping, false imprisonment
Mr. J faced the death penalty for kidnapping two men, participating in the execution of one, and shooting the other. The surviving victim identified Mr. J as the shooter, and Mr. J confessed to the crime. Mr. J's accomplice testified in court, stating they planned the crime together, used Mr. J's car, and that he witnessed Mr. J shoot the second victim.

Charges: First degree murder
NW was accused of killing someone at a party at his ex-girlfriend's house. His ex-girlfriend's testimony was presented identifying him as the killer. His DNA was recovered on several items at the house. An eyewitness identified him as someone who ran from the house after the murder.

HM
Charges: First degree murder
​HM was accused of stabbing someone to death. An eyewitness saw him stab the victim and flee. Public cameras recorded his escape, and he was found hiding in a store after changing out of a bloody shirt. A weapon was discovered along his escape route, and police received multiple tips identifying HM as the killer.
OUTCOME
DISMISSED
during trial after my cross examination of the eyewitness.

DR
Charges: Possession of a firearm
DR was an admitted gang member hanging out in his gang territory. He ran when a police unit pulled up into the alley. Several officers testified that they saw him toss a gun as he ran. The recovery of a gun was recorded on body worn video in the same place the officers saw the gun thrown.

Charges: First Degree Murder
BH was standing in the street, when an acquaintance approached and insulted his son. In the heat of the moment, BH lifted a gun and shot the man in the head, killing him.

No Contest to Voluntary Manslaughter. Sentenced to 19 years in a hospital prison

TB
Charges: Assault, four counts of burglary
A third striker, TB faced accusations of assaulting an acquaintance, smashing a bicycle through a house window, and committing burglary. When the police arrived, he fled the scene and broke into a woman's house.
OUTCOME
NOT GUILTY
on one count of burglary, deadlocked jury on all remaining counts. TB accepted a non-strike offer.

HG
Charges: Armed robbery
HG was accused of committing an armed robbery in the manager's office of a store. The unusual clothing the robber had worn was recovered nearby along with the weapon. A significant amount of HG's DNA was found on both the clothing and the weapon. The alleged crime partner, an old high school friend of HG, testified that they had planned and committed the crime together.

JJ
Charges: Six Counts of Residential Burglary
JJ was accused of committing 6 separate residential burglaries. A man with a distinctive tattoo matching that of JJ was recorded on video leaving one location. The man was seen by an eyewitness who identified JJ as the burglar. JJ wrote and signed a detailed confession confessing to all 6 burglaries. JJ admitted at trial to having written the confession.
OUTCOME
ALL ACCOUNTS DISMISSED
after the jury deadlocked

RR
Charges: Two counts of Assault with a Deadly Weapon.
RR was accused of badly beating two men at a halfway house where they resided. The bloody aftermath was captured on video. Testimony of both men was admitted at trial describing the beating. RR testified and admitted to having beaten them and said that he was the one who threw the first punch.
